Topic: Fall Bulbs

Planting

Tulips need to be planted with the pointy tip up and at least 4 inches down into the ground. As is true with all the bulbs, the pointy end is the top.

Bulb Food

There is bulb food that you can add to the ground to help get the bulbs started in the spring. Adding sulfur to the bulbs will keep them from rotting.

Paper Whites and Hyacinths

Both of these can be forced inside.

The hyaciths are pre-chilled and should be kept in the fridge for six weeks with direct access to water but not sitting in water. Paperwhites can be potted up in vases and should be sitting on top of the water without touching it. They will take about 4-6 weeks to bloom.
